Central Plaza CornerAt 78 stories and 374 meters (1227 feet), Central Plaza is the tallest building in Hong Kong. When it was completed in 1992, it was the tallest reinforced concrete building outside of North America. The building uses more marble that you're ever likely to see in any other single place and there is a swimming pool and garden on the roof -- which you'll probably never see unless you're in a helicopter or know people in high places. If you're like me, you settle for the express lift to the glassed-in 46th floor where you'll have a 360-degree aerial view of the city. Now if architects would only design a way to clean the windows on the observation floor a little more frequently that the rest of the windows. |
