Still AliveThis couple was on the beach and ran to their bungalow when the wave came. Unfortunately, their bungalow was one of the closest to the beach and it was washed away beneath them. They were separated and thrown into the water and under the hut. They managed to struggle to the surface and cling to trees until the water subsided and they found each other again.As our companions in the dining room, I asked if I could take their photo -- they looked at each other and smiled and I took this before they turned to pose for me. I took two more, but this is the one. I gave them a card to write their names and above them they wrote: "Still Alive." The beer bottle is a holdover from someone's lunch. None of the survivors was so lucky. |
